The Hess Family
Hikers, joggers and Nordic walkers have great possibilities with the well signposted trails and paths. There's a reason why we're called "the first hiking hotel of the Knüll region".
Exact route descriptions are available at the reception.
Bicyclists also will find interesting tour possibilities. The "Geistal" bike path from Neuenstein to the rail cycle path "Rotkäppchenland" via the Eisenberg can be highly recommended.
You'd like to relax in the evening after the day's excursions?
Between 6 and 10 PM we have the sauna on and are pleased to provide you the chance to relax and regenerate.
The nearby Eisenberg Mountain is especially popular with its numerous hiking trails and spectacular panoramas. The view over the Knüll Mountains far into the state of Thuringia is breathtaking.
The "Deutsche Fachwerkstraße" (a route through towns and cities featuring historic half-timbered buildings) runs close to Neuenstein. The route brings together stunning landscapes, picturesque historical towns and carefully restored historical buildings. The portion of the route from "Weserbergland to Nordhessen to Vogelsberg and Spessart" includes the cities Bad Hersfeld, Homberg (Efze), Rotenburg a. d. Fulda and Alsfeld.
In the summer months, we can highly recommend a visit to the renowned Bad Hersfeld Theater Festival (Bad Hersfelder Festspiele) to culture lovers. The Festival has been staged in the unique and impressive venue of the Stiftsruine (the 12th century ruins of a former monastery church) for 70 years. Enjoy unforgettable theater and musical experiences in the unique atmosphere of the largest Romanesque church ruins in the world.
Scenic winding roads and frequent ascents and descents will engage the interest of any biker. Enjoy driving through our varied landscapes and then return to the pleasure of an overnight stay in our country inn.
Approximately 450 animals from 40 different species find their home on 50 hectares of land here. The Knüll Wildlife Park is known particularly for its populations of different types of deer and wild sheep. These animals move freely through the park, allowing visitors to observe them in close proximity.
