The nearby Eisenberg Mountain is especially popular with its numerous hiking trails and spectacular panoramas. The view over the Knüll Mountains far into the state of Thuringia is breathtaking.
The "Deutsche Fachwerkstraße" (a route through towns and cities featuring historic half-timbered buildings) runs close to Neuenstein. The route brings together stunning landscapes, picturesque historical towns and carefully restored historical buildings. In the summer months, we can highly recommend a visit to the renowned Bad Hersfeld Theater Festival (Bad Hersfelder Festspiele) to culture lovers. The Festival has been staged in the unique and impressive venue of the Stiftsruine (the 12th century ruins of a former monastery church) for 70 years. Enjoy unforgettable theater and musical experiences in the unique atmosphere of the largest Romanesque church ruins in the world.
Scenic winding roads and frequent ascents and descents will engage the interest of any biker. Enjoy driving through our varied landscapes and then return to the pleasure of an overnight stay in our country inn.
Approximately 450 animals from 40 different species find their home on 50 hectares of land here. The Knüll Wildlife Park is known particularly for its populations of different types of deer and wild sheep.
